15. SÄNTIS CLASSIC WEINFELDEN 7th June 2015

This will be my first proper Gran Fondo with 130km including 1500m climb.

It’s a broad circuit starting in Weinfelden through  the Appenzell and Toggenberg regions with the highlight on Schwägalp 1’350m and leading through very beautiful countryside – I should know, I live here.

The Classic is open to amateur athletes, sports enthusiasts and clubs and includes expert guidance in timing, pace and nutrition with the participants riding in the desired performance groups; Fun, hobby, sport, or speed. There is also an open category but I thought it might be fun to ride in a group.

The CHF 70 entry price includes the official shirt*,  support vehicle, motorbike marshals, technical service, massage service, ample meals at the start and on the route and a starter package with over 30 items (not sure what’s in that yet but guessing energy drink, gels, etc.

* There was a vote on the shirt colour.  Orange one by a massive margin.  Orange?  Seriously? Deary me, Switzerland.
